I'm back after a short absence.
Location
I'm currently living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but may soon be moving to London, England.
About me/us
I was born in Nanaimo, BC, on Vancouver Island to Diana Mary (Mary) and Ernest Reginald (Reg) Briginshaw. I have three sisters, Susan, Anne and Teri, but no brothers. My grandfather was William Harold Briginshaw, son of Joseph James B. and Emily Frances (nee Knight) who moved from England to Australia with my grandfather's siblings. My grandfather came to Canada instead and married Mabel Rose Hellier and settled on Vancouver Island, raising four children: my father and his three sisters.
I have one daughter, Megan, who is 26 years old and currently attending the University of Victoria on Vancouver Island.
Interests/Occupation
I work with two of my sisters (Anne and Susan) and Susan's husband, in downtown Vancouver. The company raises venture capital for new start-up companies.
I "played" in the horticulture industry for a few years after many stressful years in the office equipment sales business. It's nice to be settled in an administrative position where the activity is ever-changing.
My Relations
I am related to John Fisher Briginshaw in South Africa as we share the same great-grandfather in Joseph James Briginshaw. I have also had correspondence with John Briginshaw in Tasmania who was instrumental in that he provided me with much family tree information that led us to contact John F. in South Africa. My sister has had correspondence with some of the Briginshaws in Melbourne as we believe they are also related. My family is thrilled to finally put the missing pieces together and I thank John in Binalong Bay for being so helpful, and thank the webmeister for making this so easy for us.
